Inspired by the “now page” movement, these are some highlights of recent projects, accomplishments, and whatever else I might be working on.

2026

1. I’m officially back on the hunt for my next role as a Design or Front-end Engineer, ideally somewhere in SF that really cares about craft in the UI/UX. If that sounds like your team, say hi or take a look at my resume.
2. Back home from three months in Australia, where my partner, James, played a stint with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra. It was great to be back in one of my favorite cities — a place I was fortunate to live in for a couple of years — and we also had the opportunity to take a campervan trip to the Flinders Ranges and a side trip to Bali. It was a pretty solid way to close out my sabbatical.
3. Launched Tails, my personal cocktail library. I’ve been getting into craft cocktails recently and struggled to catalog recipes I found, so I built Tails to keep track. It remains a work in progress that I’ll refine over time.
4. Picked up a Google Project Management certificate — a low-stakes experiment to see if it’s something I’d like to fold into future roles.
5. Passed my Instrument Ground Instructor exam!
6. Implemented Style Dictionary on this site, which was…interesting. It was a fun exercise to see how it serves as the glue between Figma and the front-end, though it’s definitely overkill for this site.
7. Re-launched www.bradazevedo.com — this website! (I actually forgot I had one). The old one was mainly a hidden space for my CV and was built in Gatsby, but I rebuilt it in Astro with greater ambition this time, though it remains a work in progress.
8. Launched The Beeline, a site cataloging my favorite bike routes around San Francisco — equal parts sharing what I know as a cyclist and an excuse to try some newer web tech.
9. Officially took partial ownership of a cutting-edge 1981 Cessna T182.
10. Passed my Advanced Ground Instructor knowledge exam!
11. Launched jamesbuttonoboe.com — a website for my partner and brilliant oboist, James Button.

2025

1. Diving deep into all the latest and greatest in CSS: fluid type scales, powerful new selectors, container queries, theming, OKLCH, and more. Whew!
2. Flew James and me to Portland, OR (KTTD) — my longest flight yet, and the “long cross-country” required for the commercial certificate.
3. Passed my Fundamentals of Instruction exam, the prerequisite for any FAA instructor certificate.
4. Passed my Commercial Pilot knowledge exam. Now, onto the flight portion…
5. Ate my first whole lobster in Portland, Maine. Alive, then boiled, then dismantled with an alarming number of tools. Messy, but entertaining.
